Bambu Lab H2D and AMS 2 Pro - Rumors and Leaks

Bambu Lab H2D

The new large-format printer coming in 2025

An image posted on Reddit may have revealed an as-yet-unannounced 3D printer from Bambu Lab. The photo shows a packaging insert labeled “Bambu Lab H2D Combo.” So far, there is no official confirmation about this device.

The image details the dimensions of the H2D model: 492 x 514 x 626 mm. Compared to the external dimensions of Bambu Lab’s current X1C model, this would suggest an approximate build volume of 350 x 350 x 420 mm . This size would be significantly larger than that of the X1C model, whose build volume is 256 x 256 x 256 mm.

The name “H2D” could refer to a dual-extrusion feature, where two nozzles are used. In this system, one active nozzle would be lowered to print while the inactive one would remain raised, avoiding interference. This technology would allow for more efficient material changes, also reducing the usual waste during purge cycles.

AMS 2 Pro

Another highlight is the included “ AMS 2 Pro ” system, which appears to be designed for multi-material printing.

Compared to the previous AMS module, this new system could incorporate additional functions, such as material drying, a key feature for hygroscopic and high-temperature filaments. The combination of a larger build volume and support for high-temperature materials could position Bambu Lab as a direct competitor for industrial-grade devices.

Both are expected to be launched in 2025

In October 2024, Bambu Lab announced that it was delaying the launch of new 3D printers until early 2025. According to Dr. Tao, CEO and co-founder of the company, this decision responds to the need to guarantee a product that meets high quality standards.

We are developing a product that will redefine the boundaries of what is possible in consumer 3D printing. This additional time will allow us to deliver on this promise and launch a fully optimized and globally supported product ,” explained Dr. Tao.

The price is currently unknown, but it seems logical to think that it will be higher than that of its predecessor, the X1C. At PRINTATONIC we are really looking forward to seeing what the people at Bambu bring us for 2025, but they have certainly already managed to position this printer - which has not yet been announced - as one of the most anticipated of the year!
